As a first-tier subcontractor to DEXIS, i-APS provided perforamance and impact evaluation support to the three-year contract out of an activity funded by the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) in Honduras.
i-APS provided technical and functional support to DEXIS through the Monitoring and Evaluation Support for Collaborative Learning and Adapting (MESCLA) contract to the USAID Honduras Mission in enhancing its impact and sustainability by undertaking more strategic, focused, and results-oriented approaches to monitoring, evaluation, and learning.
A principal objective of the Governance in Ecosystems, Livelihoods, and Water Activity (GEMA) project was to bring about changes in land use practices that will reduce the scale and intensity of their negative effects on the quality and reliability of supply of the water required for human use now and in the future.
Improved land use practices will also increase the protection of terrestrial and aquatic biodiversity. To establish the Impact Assessment Baseline, i-APS teams used remote sensing information from a diversity of European Space Agency and NASA data sets.
